Cancer Research InstituteSwami Rama Society supports the Cancer Research Institute of the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT).

 

The Cancer Research Institute (Sushila Tiwari Memorial Cancer Research Institute), established in the year 2006, is the first of its kind in Uttarakhand. The Cancer Research Institute (CRI) is inspired by the vision of the founder H.H. Shri Swami Rama. It is addressing all aspects of cancer control such as prevention, early detection and treatment facilities supported by research and education. The CRI is spread over at total area of 181,000 sq. ft. within the premises of HIHT Campus.

HIHT has been providing community and tertiary level services for diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of cancer for more than a decade through its specialty and super specialty departments. HIHT developed good infrastructure to support a modern comprehensive cancer treatment program under its umbrella and became a nodal point for referral of cancer patients from Uttarakhand state and surrounding plain areas.

To be the premier cancer center in this region.

To respond to the specific needs of the regional population and develop integrated cost-effective approaches to prevent and treat cancer by excellence of our people and research-driven patient care and education.

rdiSwami Rama Society supports the Rural Development Institute (RDI) of the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust (HIHT).

 

Rural Development Institute was started by the founder H.H. Dr. Swami Rama in early 90’s.

The programs focus on serving the needy and the vulnerable in the mountain region of the Himalayas. Interventions are carried out in the field of health, water and sanitation, relief and rehabilitation, education and skills, livelihood and enablement of quality of life for the rural poor. Special attention is paid to the needs of women, children, adolescents, the elderly and the differently abled.
